PRENATAL & POSTPARTUM

ABOUT THIS SERVICE

Supporting mothers is one of the joys of my practice! I don't think our culture gives NEARLY enough reverence, support, and awe to women and our bodies... just think about this: with the introduction of a single cell at the perfect time, your womb has the potential to become a portal, bringing a soul into the physical realm, forever changing the course of human history. â€‹

Eggs choose the sperm they want to impregnate them, and then BLAST all the other sperms apart, preventing further implantation.

Women's nipples receive information from a baby's saliva and are able to supply the child with what it needs in that moment for his/her greatest health, whether it's immune support for healing sickness, or melatonin for helping the baby sleep at bedtime.

That is mind-blowing. Women are EPIC.

I once had a client who was about to give birth, and I had the absolute honor to massage her just near her due date in her home. I vividly remember one particular moment: She was laying on her side, her eyes closed, her arm gently draped around her huge belly. She seemed completely at peace, as though knowing and savoring these last moments before the storm, while her child still resided within her, safe and secure beneath her heart. When we were done with the massage, she went to the bathroom. "I think my water just broke!" she said to me when she came back. I found out later that she went into labor that night and gave birth the next day. I feel completely blessed to have been present as the birthing portal was opening for her and her child. What a gift.

I love supporting prenatal women; your body is going through so much to support that child. Whether it's helping relieve the aches and pains of your body wildly adjusting to growing a fetus, or preparing your breasts for breastfeeding, there is so much we can do to care for you so you can better care for your child.

Postpartum women, lymphatic bodywork is a must! Your body just did the biggest thing a human body can do. Your body also just released so many hormones and toxins to bring that baby into the world, it is extremely important to flush them out. This can help with postpartum depression symptoms and support your immune system. Breast massage can help with milk flow and prevention of mastitis. There is so much we can do to support your body at this time.

I truly look forward to working with you.

The moment a child is born, the mother is also born. She never existed before. The woman existed, but the mother, never. A mother is something absolutely new.
